As we get older, it is time to live life for you and no one else. As mothers and wives, we put our needs and wants on hold for the good of the family. That is what this journey is about. I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and throwing caution to the wind. If it comes to fruition, well, that remains to be seen.
My Journey into the world of writing.
First and foremost, if you’re reading this—thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart.
Writing has always been a part of me. What began as simple Christmas poems tucked into gifts for co-workers soon grew into something much deeper. Friends and colleagues began asking for personalized poems—heartfelt pieces for weddings, retirements, funerals, and other meaningful moments. Each request reminded me how powerful words can be. And from there, my journey into writing children’s books began.
Each of my children’s books is written in poem form and carries a piece of my own story. I grew up as a Navy brat, and for those who’ve lived that life, you know the challenges—constantly starting over, changing schools, trying to make new friends (especially when you're shy), and always searching for a sense of belonging. So many of my poems are rooted in those experiences. Now, as an adult reflecting back, I want young readers to know: it’s okay to feel different. It’s okay to feel unsure. Just be yourself. You are perfect exactly as you are.
But poetry and children’s stories aren’t the only way I express what’s inside. I’ve also written psychological thriller novels—dark, emotional journeys that explore the complexity of the human mind and the shadows we often keep hidden. Writing in different genres allows me to explore the full range of emotions and experiences—from the innocence of childhood to the darker corners of adulthood.
At the heart of everything I write—whether it’s a gentle poem for a child or a twist-filled thriller—is a desire to connect. To make people feel seen, understood, and never alone.
So thank you again for being here. I’m so glad our paths have crossed.
