Lions to Lambs

This summer has flown by… having two kids, one who just started preschool last week will keep anyone busy.  But, I had to take the time to write about my wonderful day of work on Saturday.  First of all it was Saturday, which is really unusual to work … but always great as the production has to pay time and 1/2 for holiday pay.  No complaints here ;)

I was invited to work on “Lions to Lambs.”  It is a military drama directed by and starring Robert Redford.  The early buzz, via me… it is fantastic.  A real emotional roller coaster, with a lot of suspense, and some endearing heros.  Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep star along side Redford.

I was honored to get to replace some of Ms. Streep’s lip smacks… so, yes during that riviting emotional scene in the senator’s office, just remember, that is Andrea Baker smacking those lips between lines :)  Oh what a life I lead.

The best part of this job was the fact the director, Redford, was at the session with us.  He was opinionated, professional and warm.  He put us all at ease, thanked us for our work and recognized us as voice over artists, not just glorified extras.  It is always a pleasure to be appreciated for your work, no matter what your job.  I will always remember him shaking my hand and looking me in the eye.  What a gentleman, and yes ladies he’s still got “it!”

Unreal Tournament 3

Today was my 3rd day playing “Jester” on the CD rom game “Unreal Tournament 3″

It was a fun session at Technicolor in Burbank.  Morgan was my engineer and Richard directed me on this session.  It was a lot of game directives… I guess basic directions for the player so they know the goals and dangers of the game.  “Jester” is a great character.  She is the only woman that I know in a very macho group of guns for hire.  There is a lot of action, shooting, attacking, and getting attacked, so it was definately exhausting, especially the first day, which was a couple of weeks ago.  It was also  a lot of fun.  No matter how tired I get I never forget how lucky I am to be doing what I really love to do and getting paid for it.  Don’t tell any producers, but I would probably do it for free.

Hello world!
